History
Aurica, then just Amelia, was essentially an accident -- her parents had not been together for more than a half a year at the time of her conception. Once her mother found out she was pregnant, she told her boyfriend and after a small fit of avoiding each other, they sought out advice, and eventually decided to get married and try to raise their new child. However, they still had plenty of conflicts, and this continued up until Amelia was seven, when they decided it was doing their daughter no good to stay together, and divorced. They shared custody until she was out of highschool and rented an apartment on her own.
She also was friends with Adrian when she was younger. As they were both outcasts and bookworms it wasn't surprising that they were close friends. Even though she had fairly low self-esteem at the time because she had glasses and braces, endured teasing and had a less than peaceful family life, once in a while she would always invite Adrian out to go do something outside of homes and classrooms. Aurica was a little relieved when he decided to join the military in order to experience more, but she always did worry about him, even after losing touch.
After highschool, she took it upon herself to choose a direction for her life and change her outlook as well. One of these was cutting her hair to only chin length, something she had been afraid of doing, since she'd had long hair as long as she could remember. She headed off to college, where she remained, planning to be an English teacher until she discovered through a bit of an ordeal that she had CO powers. The only reason she was almost certain that she did was because of her father's former military employment, and on her mother's side, her grandfather's. After finding out she had them, Aurica chose to undergo training to make use of what she had, and eventually join the military herself, maybe even seeing her old friend. Near the end of her training, she saw Adrian again -- on television, but nevertheless, once she knew she had the chance to see him again, she worked even harder than usual, hoping that if she got the highest marks she could that she'd be chosen as a new Commander herself.
Personality
Generally, Aurica is a mature and gentle person. While she is polite and charming, she can come off mysterious, too. She doesn't share her thoughts or emotions with many people, but she is trying to open up a little more. It's proving difficult, although her personal quest to improve her self-esteem, and ultimately her life, is going well otherwise.
Relationships
As a childhood friend of Adrian's, Aurica -- though he knows her better as Amelia -- still feels very close to him, though she is somewhat hesitant to act that way after not seeing him in person for over six years.

Trivia
- Aurica's full name is a pun on on Emilie De Rochefort, better known as Lili, a character in the Tekken games, whereas her alias is also the name of an Ar Tonelico character. It was chosen more in reference to the constellation Auriga, however.
