Izumi Date (CO name Hemurokku, Japanese for the poison Hemlock) is a Commanding Officer from Yellow Comet.

History

Grew up in a small fishing town on the northern-most island (Onabashi province), leading a fairly average life as a child. His father was a philosopher, pushing radical nihilism on his family - however this was misunderstood by the young Izumi, who was pushed into an apathetic nature by this.

At the age of 19 he joined the navy, learning first hand the terrors of war, and turning his apathy to sadism. Here too he gained a link with the marines, those soldiers linked closely with the navy as well. After a few years more he was elevated and given officer training - his skills far outweighing the unflattering personality report created on him. Intelligence and passion took him even further, to the stage where he was able to command several ships at once, acting as a low level admiral without the actual rank. Hemlock had incredible skill on the waves, and was looking to be promoted further still.

It was thus quite a suprise to him when a full squad of marines strait-jacketed him and committed him to a mental institute to settle his disturbing traits. Six years he spent there, stubbornly resisting all attempts at therapy, or psychologists prying into his past. It was in the institute that his CO powers finally appeared, though they did him little good at the time. Eventually the military sprung for his release, his personality having been brought down to a socially acceptable norm, his destructive tendencies channeled towards war alone.

From there he was eventually promoted upwards to full commander, beginning his new life directly under the Emperor himself.
