History

Beginnings

Makoto was born into the wealthy Komori family, a family of weapons makers that have been serving the Yellow Comet Empire for nearly 4 centuries. The family started with things like forging weapons and armor and as time and technology moved forward, so did the families means of production. Each member of the family grows up learning a particular type of weapon making, usually the newest tech to keep the family on the cutting edge. When the industrial age came to Yellow Comet, Makoto's great grandfather built the first firearms production center in the nation and soon the family became the premier firearms manufacture in the nation. More of these factories sprang up and the Komori family became rich as a result.

This was the life Makoto was born into. She lived the life as the sole daughter of a wealthy family for the early part of her life. However, she grew to dislike this life and chose instead to spend her free time in the local weapons plant, spending time with the workers and learning the trade of her family. In time, she became a master gunsmith and a skilled mechanic in her own right. She also learned the ins and outs of most planes, learning everything she could about how they worked, to weak points in the armor of the plane itself. She kept this life up for years, until she turned 17, her parents putting their foot down on her spending so much time with the lower class. Makoto was more or less forced back into her old life. She tried settling into the rich life when she was older, even getting married and having a daughter. She realized however, this was not the life for her, so she packed her bags and left home at 21, her daughter in tow. She moved in with a distant cousin in a nearby city and cut herself off from her parents.


Military Service and Discovery

Once she settled into her new life, Makoto enlisted in the Yellow Comet Army Engineer Corps, finishing her training as a combat engineer. She and her squad worked behind the scenes to build bases and defuse explosives and other such support roles. They were not called into combat too often, but Makoto does bear a scar on her stomach from a time they were pressed into service and she was wounded. Makoto’s adeptness with the various tools of war and her passion for her work saw her rise through the ranks till she eventually became the leader for her squad. All the while, she kept tabs on her growing daughter, making sure she stayed safe.

Her powers came as quite a shock to her one evening a couple years ago. While working late night in the garage, she was tinkering with a unit of Anti-Air, making sure they were in good working order. Eventually, she worked herself into frenzy, finding every bit of scrap she could, and pulling parts off broken vehicles. That morning, she found that she had repaired a good number of the broken units in the garage and the units she fixed actually performed better in combat testing against air units. Not wanting this talent to go to waste, Makoto was pressed into CO training.

Personality

While not much of a talker, she is hardly a mute. She tends to keep her conversations brief with new people but long with friends. A fiercely loyal individual, who is proud of her families work and history and is very confident in her own abilities. Her time as a lifer in the Yellow Comet army has earned her a reputation with other soldiers.
